Università Cattolica 2021: a completely updated website in English to mark the centenary year

Università Cattolica looks ahead to the future and it plans to mark 2021, the occasion of its centenary year, with a series of initiatives that will construct the second century of its esteemed history. Naturally, there will be a strong association with its past but the aim is also to foster innovation together with the University’s expanding international profile.

The theme of internationalisation - the integration on a global scale of its tripartite mission of teaching, research and service - is a strategic cornerstone and endeavours to further enhance the quality of the University’s education and research, as well as addressing broader social objectives.

It was, therefore, in this perspective that Università Cattolica launched unicatt.eu on March 31, the new institutional website in English offering international users a browsing experience that closely reflects the Italian version. The Unicatt website was already partially bilingual but the wish to adapt to the most advanced standards of higher education inspired the University to further enhance this fundamental communication tool.

The new website in English is based on three guiding principles: an optimised browsing experience, more in-depth information and ease of access for all international reference targets.

Unicatt.eu benefited from the meticulous research, analysis and design work that had previously led to the release of Università Cattolica’s new institutional portal (unicatt.it) which communicates both with academic institutions and with future freshers, providing streamlined access to advice and guidance opportunities, academic programmes and all enrolment procedures. More specifically, the international user will now also be able to view the full content of the undergraduate, graduate and integrated degree programmes offered by the University (comprising website pages, brochures and syllabuses).

The Faculties listed on the menu take on a new guise thanks to the creativity of street artist Basik who has designed simple, effective icons to convey information.

The main menu links seamlessly to the other portals of the Università Cattolica’s digital ecosystem in English where information is arranged according to the specific interests of the different visitor categories (international enrolments, student services, research).

Additionally, in parallel to the Italian version, the new portal provides daily updates with stories, experiences, research projects and events involving the 12 faculties of the University’s five campuses (Milan, Brescia, Cremona, Piacenza, Rome) which aim to enhance, on a global platform, Università Cattolica’s esteemed reputation for knowledge, values and opportunities.
