The Graduation Day of the degree programme in Medicine and Surgery will be held on Friday, 4 July, at 5.30 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Rome campus of Università Cattolica. This will be a ceremony for the graduating students of the programme, fully delivered in English, active since the 2013-2014 academic year at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the Athenaeum.
The event will be opened at 5.30 p.m. by Professor Alessandro Sgambato, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at Università Cattolica, and by Father Alessandro Mantini, Professor of Theology and pastoral assistant on the Rome campus. A salutation message by Professor Giovanni Gambassi, President of the degree programme in Medicine and Surgery will follow.
At 6.10 p.m. the Commencement speech will be delivered by Professor Amy J. Goldberg, Dean of the “Lewis Katz” Faculty of Medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia (USA): “I’m truly honored to be part of this year’s commencement ceremony, and to reflect for the graduates on the journey of a career in medicine—the unexpected turns and challenges that shape who we become as physicians, and the importance of keeping your humanity at the heart of your practice. It’s especially meaningful to share this message here in Rome, where science and humanism have always met. What better place to talk about where medicine can take you, and how it will ultimately lead you where you’re meant to be.”
At 6.45 p.m. the graduation ceremony will take place with the proclamation of the new Doctors of Medicine and Surgery.
The event can be followed in live streaming by connecting to the homepage of the University’s Rome campus.
