Dr Christos Christou, International President of ‘Medecins Sans Frontieres – MSF’, will deliver the Keynote Address at the White Coat ceremony for the integrated degree programme in Medicine and Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of Università Cattolica, to be held on Thursday, 9 October, at 5.30 p.m. in the Auditorium of the University’s Rome Campus (L. go Francesco Vito, 1).

The ceremony – which in Italy represents a rite of passage between the end of the third and the beginning of the fourth year of the programme, during which, by donning their white coats, future doctors enter the clinical studies phase – will be opened by greetings from Professor Alessandro Sgambato, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at Università Cattolica, Dr. Daniele Piacentini, Director General of Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli IRCCS, and Don Alessandro Mantini, Professor of Theology and Pastoral Assistant at the Rome campus, and introduced by Professor Giovanni Gambassi, President of the Degree Programme in Medicine and Surgery.

At 5.50 p.m., the Coating ceremony will take place, followed by the Keynote Address by Dr Christos Christou, International President of Médecins Sans Frontières – MSF.

At 6.55 p.m., Dr Elena Jacchia, Alumna of Class 2023, will solemnly proclaim the Hippocratic Oath.

The ceremony can be followed via live streaming by connecting to the Rome Campus homepage: https://roma.unicatt.it/.
