Covid impact on organised criminal groups

The COVID-19 pandemic has generated new opportunities and challenges for Organized Criminal Groups. In order to better understand how is that they adapt to and exploit this crisis, Almost 30 real-life cases were identified worldwide and further analysed by Transcrime researchers regarding two main criminal dynamics: illegal governance and infiltration of the legal economy. Additional evidence has been found on changes in ownership of Italian companies during the first months of the pandemic and the potential risks of criminal infiltration and money laundering.
