Dies Academicus with Firmin Edouard Matoko

The Brescia campus of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore will inaugurate the academic year with a ceremony that will take place on Tuesday 4 March 2025, at 17 Via Trieste, in the presence of Firmin Edouard Matoko, UNESCO’s Assistant Director-General for Priority Africa and External Relations.

The ceremony will be preceded by the celebration of Holy Mass at 9.15 a.m. in the Duomo Vecchio, presided over by the Bishop of Brescia, Mons. Pierantonio Tremolada, and concelebrated by the General Ecclesiastical Assistant of the University, Mons. Claudio Giuliodori.

The Dies Academicus will open at 11 a.m. in the Aula Magna Tovini, with the inaugural speech by the Rector of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Elena Beccalli, and greetings from the Mayor of Brescia, Laura Castelletti, the Bishop of Brescia, Mons. Pierantonio Tremolada, and the President of the Ente Bresciano per l’Istruzione Superiore (EBIS) [tr. Brescia Higher Education Organisation] Alessandro Azzi, and will be moderated by Professor Mario Taccolini, coordinator of development strategies for the Brescia campus.

The Dies ceremony will end with a speech by Firmin Edouard Matoko, UNESCO’s Assistant Director-General for Priority Africa and External Relations.
