On Sunday 19 December, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore will celebrate the inauguration of the 2021-2022 academic year on its Milan campus in the presence of Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission.
The inaugural ceremony will be preceded by a Eucharistic celebration presided over by the Archbishop of Milan, Monsignor Mario Delpini, scheduled for 9.00 a.m. in the Basilica of Sant'Ambrogio.
At 11.00 a.m. in the Aula Magna of Università Cattolica (largo Gemelli, 1) there will be a message from His Holiness Pope Francis on the occasion of the centenary of the University. This will be followed by the inaugural address by the Rector Franco Anelli. After Monsignor Mario Delpini, President of the Giuseppe Toniolo Institute for Advanced Studies, President Ursula von der Leyen will deliver the keynote address.
